Murder victim's family grieve
Andrew Moffitt stabbed to death in Sandy Hill pub

While families gathered with loved ones yesterday to celebrate Christmas, Andrew Moffitt's parents spent their day grappling with the murder of their 23-year-old son.
The University of Ottawa computer engineering student was stabbed once through the heart early Wednesday morning as he tried to break up a fight at the Coyotes bar on Somerset St. E. in Sandy Hill.
"It wasn't Christmas today," said Paulette Moffitt, Andrew's mother.
"We opened some of Andy's gifts. A few I opened so he could wear them and some I just put in his bedroom. I'm not sure what I'll do with them," she said yesterday from her Brockville home. "I just see his face everywhere I look."
She said Andrew's two brothers -- Rod. Jr., 27, and Mike, 11 -- are devastated by the sudden death of their beloved brother.
"We're all trying to go on because he's (Mike) just a little guy. We sent him out to play road hockey with his friends but the rest of us -- we don't even know what day it is."
The family has been in contact with the University of Ottawa to set up some type of scholarship in memory of their slain son, said father Rod Moffitt.
Visitation will take place tomorrow at Barkley Funeral Home in Brockville between 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at St. John Bosco Catholic Parish in Brockville.
Meanwhile, Andrew's alleged killer, Henry Danninger, made a brief court appearance in Ottawa on Christmas Eve with his lawyer Alan Brass.
He has been charged with second-degree murder.
The balding, bearded 26-year-old University of Ottawa student said only "Thank you" as as he was remanded in custody until Dec. 29.
